A series of resources designed to give the opportunity for group, classroom or youth club activities and discussions, based around challenging and prominent issues advocated by the client.

The series includes: Plight of Child Soldiers (Back to Rehab/Children in Conflict); Nowhere Children of India (Identity Parade); Anti Retro Viral Drugs (A Collage of My Dreams), Sustainable Livelihoods, Alive, Obstacle Course and the BIG deal about a LITTLE bite.

Designed to appeal to young people, this series of artwork features real photographs, illustrations and text used together to create lively images full of information to prompt discussion. The colourful posters are supported by photocopiable activity sheets on the back, providing an efficient and versatile resource.

Youth Ambassadors 2009 Pack

An imaginative design solution required for a Scheme Members Pack for young people. Approximately only 30 prestigious packs per year are required and cost was a major issue for the client, which the design ideas took into account. Our design solution was to create a ‘hand made feel’, with a presentation box tied with garden string. Stickers cover the presentation box, which holds several assignments in separate envelopes to be opened on designated dates-an idea used to add intrigue to the pack. By juxtaposing imagery, the various issues to be explored in the pack are cleverly highlighted in a lively way.

We developed templates and a prototype to be followed which allowed packs to be printed and put together ‘in house’ on demand. World Vision now has updatable templates easily adapted each year, making this an appealing yet cost effective piece of design. Our involvement was finished off by the design of a contemporary recruitment advert in the well known young people’s magazine ‘Sugar’.

This interactive educational resource was commissioned as an introduction to the global impact of HIV/AIDS for Key Stage 4 students. The artwork was designed to convey the sensitive issues of stigma and prejudice for a discerning audience. The collage illustrations make use of real photographs, poignant design elements and questioning text to produce challenging and thought provoking visuals.

This CD-ROM highlights the challenging issues surrounding child labour, commissioned to mark the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade in the British Empire. This complex subject required poignant and thought provoking designs appropriate for Key Stages 3 and 4. The design reflects the content and communicates with the audience through the use of picture galleries, film and posters. The online feedback form connected to the disc allows the schools to evaluate World Vision’s resources.

In the Face of Disaster

This resource explores how international aid can make a difference and why more help is needed. Focusing on the Tsunami of Dec 2004, the Niger famine, the Ugandan conflict and the Iranian earthquake, this CD-rom gives Key Stage 3 students extensive information on the unique issues of each disaster, with activities prompting them to debate and take action. The user has access to Wold Vision video, galleries, key facts and curriculum linked activity sheets.
