Refraction – The Pirates Treasure

The second in a series of fishy-themed touch screen game for the New Art Gallery, Walsall. Designed to engage a young audience with surrounding artwork, the user drags the fish, picking up objects en route to the treasure chest. Featuring a points scale for collecting treasure, along with end results page showing points scored and time taken to complete the game, this holds the users attention with animations and sounds effects.

Once again, this year we have donated money to the Help the Aged Charity instead of producing and sending Christmas cards to our clients. Our contribution has been made to the ‘1 is a lonely number’ campaign providing a Christmas dinner for elderly people who live alone.

We are therefore delivering our seasonal message in an email with special thanks for your support, creative ideas and exciting projects that you have sent our way during 2009.

Accounting Early for Life Long Learning DVD-ROM

The design and branding of an interactive educational training DVD-ROM for early years practitioners. Our role was to enhance original video footage and reference information facilitated by the design of onscreen text presentations. The navigation of this resource enforces the 5 sections of training and clearly illustrates how these sections overlap.

Refraction – The fish game

Design of a drag-and-drop touch screen game as an installation in the children’s Discovery Gallery to encourage a very young audience to engage with a new art collection. Programming features include bubble and swimming fish animations. The concept relies on simple visual communication using shapes, colour and sound alongside imaginative programming ideas to hold the interest and attention of 3 to 8 year olds.

Partition Remembered

An interactive educational resource in which the design helps illustrates 20 very individual accounts of the 1947 Partition of India. The explorative navigation allows the user to navigate the disc, accessing original Imperial War Museum footage, galleries of photos and extensive maps, bringing to life their memories in a very personal way. The graphic theme developed flow seamlessly into the design of lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations and worksheets.

Journey to a Brighter Future DVD-ROM

An interactive DVD-ROM resource designed for 5-8 year olds.

Our work on this project included the creation of space scenes using photographs of the puppet characters featured within the video clips, as well as animating backdrops and creating fun user-friendly navigation.

Game features include the collation of scoring and feedback, allowing client access to anonymous information for statistical analysis.

A design for a business website which needed to be informative, stylish, organised and simple to navigate. The site cleanly reflects the client’s brief to sell his business skills and services as a consultant to large corporate companies.

Primary French CD-ROMs

The brief required the design of a range of engaging interactive games for classroom use, using authentic French voices. The design challenge was to maximise learning in creative ways using our expertise in interactive technology. As well as providing education through reinforcement, the games provide teachers with a tool for classroom assessment. The end product is a successful, dynamic resource that can be used time and time again.
