The brief: To create a welcoming and friendly environment to the primary school’s entrance area, with a design that flows through to the waiting area.

The process: Two Thirds Design were invited to St. John Fisher’s Catholic Primary School to brainstorm ideas for their reception interior. The area was quite small and disjointed.

Pupils had previously created an amazing stained glass feature at the front of the school, so we reflected this design within our graphical display.

We combined the school ethos with the stained glass elements, a montage of inspirational and local photography, flags to represent the student population of the school, as well as the eight pairs of virtues from Jesuit Pupil Profile, to create an inspirational environment.

The end result: We used a combination of window and wall vinyl, as well as profile cut vinyl text to transform the school reception area. The welcoming window display captured the diverse and vibrant nature of this primary school, whilst allowing light in to the space. We used a reverse printed acrylic panel with leaflet dispensers to create a leaflet rack that contained the school welcome statement. A staff board was produced using an acrylic panel with A4 poster pockets. The same solution was used to create an interactive ‘Value of the Month’ display. The existing ‘Charity Certificates’ pin board was transformed with a printed corkboard facia. All elements linked in colour and style and led the visitor in to the space.
